WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE VARIOUS OCTOMASK MODELS?
Both the Standard and Frameless Models offer a great way to shoot hands free video, and are both comparable in size to each other.
The primary difference between the two models is that the Standard Mask contains two pieces of tempered glass for the lenses, while the frameless contains a single piece of tempered glass.
If you a thinner nose than average, you can go for the Octomask Freediver!
The OCTOMASK tends to fit most people with average to large faces extremely well.
Need Prescription Lenes? Prescription Lenses can be installed into either mask by a dive shop professional, however it is typically less expensive to have lenses installed into the Standard Double Lens Model. Let us know if you need prescription lenses!

The housing is very tough plastic... even thicker than that on my ScubaPro. The face part is a very soft silicone compound, no leaks at all, very good fit. The straps were easy to adjust, and the mask comes with a protective cloth bag. And, it has a GoPro mount right on the mask... how kool is that?!?
As for any negative comments... they are very minor.
1) The GoPro is attached with a metric screw instead of the thumbscrew you typically have. You need a metric Hex driver to tighten it down and remove it.
2) If you have the GoPro floaty back door attached, it may not seat back where you want it... it may have a slight tilt forward. Or it could just be my over-sized thick skull...
Having said that... I took one of my small GoPro extender link things... attached it, then attached the GoPro to that. Now it sits up about 1/2 inch higher (15mm) and I can adjust it out a bit to compensate for the floaty back. (Or my big head) Additionally... now I have the typical thumb screw and don't need to use a tool.
So overall... I'm giving it 5 stars.

Since I was snorkeling at the surface of the water, the GoPro camera spent a small percentage of the time bobbing up and down above the surface. In other words, even though I was looking under the water, the camera was not looking under the water, it was looking just barely above the water. But that's not the mask's fault, it was doing what it was designed to do. If I had been scuba diving instead of snorkeling, it would have been perfect.
If I could redesign the mask, I would also figure out a way to optionally side-mount the camera to the mask so that it was underwater whenever my eyes were underwater, then it would be perfect for snorkeling.
Still, even though it didn't hold the camera underwater 100 percent of the time, I got some good snorkeling footage with it, so generally I am happy. The mask itself fit me OK and kept the water out of my eyes. I had a bit of fatigue on my forehead where the mask met my forehead, just got a headache from it pushing against my forehead so tightly. Possibly I simply had it adjusted too tight. But the fatigue only set in after over an hour of snorkeling, and the rest of my body was ready to call it a day as well, so it wasn't an issue.
There is a small issue with the little metal nut on the mount. The nut is the part that the GoPro bolt screws into. You can either use the bolt that they supply with the mask (needs a hex tool), or you can use the thumb-screw that comes with the GoPro. Either way, they screw into a small metal nut that fits into the mask.
The problem is that the nut is not "captive", it can fall out and get lost if you don't have a bolt screwed into it. They should have made the nut captive so that it is not easily lost.
I solved the problem with the nut by using a bit of RTV silicone to stick it more permanently to the mask (while making sure to keep the threads clear of any glue). It was trouble-free for my entire Kaua'i trip.

It arrived very quickly and was exactly as advertised
On the downside, try not to look upwards while filming as the position of the camera means that a lot of your exhaust bubbles will rise up in front of the camera and obscure its view. I will be looking on Amazon to find a piece of kit that I can use to hold the camera a few inches in front of my face to try to avoid this problem in future.
